Mission Statement: To bond through our passion for skating, encourage growth in organization and leadership skills, and strengthen the community through volunteer work.

We will be participating in Outside-of-the-Rink volunteer events! The PSC Junior Board will offer AT LEAST one Outside-of-the-Rink volunteer event every few months, as well as skating-related events. We will update all members through email and social media for information about upcoming events. We will also be participating in club volunteer events! These events will include competitions. We will have team-bonding events like an end-of-the-year Banquet. We plan them throughout the year while also communicating with the Senior Board.

Point System

There will be a point system to keep track of volunteer hours.

For every hour of volunteering (including competitions), skaters will earn 10 points.

For every meeting attended, skaters will earn 5 points.

If a member comes up with an idea for an event and the idea is used, they will receive 5 points

The running total of points will be maintained by the Junior Board officers and published on the Junior Board website. The Junior Board members will also be notified of how many points they have after every event.

Awards and Recognition

At the End-of-the-Year Banquet, all skaters will receive a recognition certificate.

There will also be special awards:

PSC Junior Board Gold Star Member & Gift Bag
- Given to the skater who acquires the MOST points
- If there are ties, each of those skaters will earn this award
PSC Junior Board Honor Roll Member
- Given to skaters who participate in all volunteer events

Officer Positions:

To be eligible for a PSC Junior Board Officer position, you must:

have full membership in the PSC
be in high schooler or going to high school in the fall

Attendance and Points

Event Ideas

Runs the Junior Board effectively and efficiently in an organized manner; announces upcoming events and other info during meetings; gives assistance and guidance; maintains frequent connection with PSC Board members; works with the senior board liaison; ensures that bylaws are published on the JB website; keeps membership up to date

When you become an officer, you will be part of the leadership team for 1 year, depending on the position, but can reapply the following year
- The Vice President will become President the next season since they will be experienced and knowledgeable about the President’s role through aiding them the previous season. If the Vice President is a senior and is not eligible to serve as president, then the secretary, project chair, or public relations officer will take over.
- Applicants with prior experience in the leadership team (i.e. have held another officer position on the JB) have priority over a position for next season
JB members who have been members for 2 or more years can apply to become officers. Officers are chosen based on points earned by the current officers. The top 3 applicants with the most points are eligible for consideration to become an officer, but all members who have been members for 2 or more years are welcome to apply.
Officers can miss at most 2 events
All officers are expected to be respectful, take full responsibility of their role, and attend all meetings unless there is an important prior engagement
If an officer resigns before the term is over, the role will be divided between the other officers

How to register:

To become a PSC Junior Board member you must be:

a PSC home club/associate member
ages 10-18

It is encouraged to have a PSC Junior Board T-shirt for volunteering events. We want to

represent the Junior Board while we volunteer. The pricing for T-shirts will be sent out

in a group email once the roster is finalized. This is because pricing will vary depending

on the number of people. It will be approximately $20-30.
